DENVER RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee ."September 18, 1980 Committee: Chairman Dannels, Trustees Houston and Wagner Attending: Chairman Dannels, Trustee Wagner Also Attending: Mayor Tregent, Town Administrator Hill, Public Works Director Widmer Absent: Trustee Houston MUSEUM SIGN AND REMODELING: Milt Erickson appeared on behalf of the Museum Committee requesting permission to move the Museum sign closer to the corner of Fourth Street and U.S. Highway 36 and to remodel portions of the Museum building. The remodeling would include removing the double doors and putting in a wall with two small windows, enclosing a 20' x 19' area for storage, installing two windows adjacent to the entrance, and weatherstripping the main doors. Mr. Erickson indicated the planned improvements will be paid for out of funds now on hand. The Committee recommends approval of the remodeling projects and relocating the sign in accordance with sign regulations. HORSE SHOW AND RODEO COMMITTEE 1981 BUDGET REQUEST: Jack Miller appeared before the Committee and presented the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee's requests for the 1981 budget. BRIDGE INVENTORY: A preliminary report was received regarding the load capacity and rating summary of the Fall River Lane and Old Ranger Drive bridges. The Fall River Lane bridge was rated at 9 tons gross load and the Old Range Drive bridge at 8 tons gross load. The Committee recommends these load limits be posted at the bridges as soon as possible. PARKING LOT #1 (ATHLETIC FIELD) DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE REPLACEMENTS: One bid was received for replacing the entrances to Parking Lot #1 with six inches of concrete and the sidewalk with four inches. The Committee recommends entering into a contract with Pinson Concrete for this project at a cost of $5,320. TIRE SUPPLY: The Committee reviewed the state bid prices for tires and recommends the Town's supply be obtained through the state bids. The Committee also directed the Public Works Director to research the possibility of using recaps. REPORTS: The 1980 street improvements have been completed. A letter dated August 19, 1980 was received from the U.S. Department of Transportation requesting cooperation from the Town of Estes Park as it proceeds with the proposed improvement of State Highway 7 from Meeker Park to U.S. 36 East.
