Director Widmer, Police Chief Ault

CURVE AT INTERSECTION OF STEAMER DRIVE AND BLACK CANYON DRIVE:
Everett Peirce requested the Committee review the hazardous curve at
the intersection of Black Canyon Drive and Steamer Drive. He said
that several drivers heading south use the other lane when rounding
the curve. Public Works Director Widmer commented that the area was
further excavated to improve the visibility of the curve but that
drivers still continue to cut the corner. The Committee recommends
installing curve signs in both directions and painting a centerline
stripe.
HOSPITAL BOARD REQUEST REGARDING ROOM 203 OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING:
Maurice Worley, Vice Chairman of the Park Hospital District Board,
requested the Elizabeth Guild be permitted to install their cabinets
and cupboards in Room 203 of the Municipal Building where the Guild
will be meeting. He explained that the remodeling of the hospital
basement has forced the Elizabeth Guild to temporarily find other
meeting quarters and storage for their cabinets. The Committee felt
that adequate cabinet space is presently available in Room 203 which
should be utilized prior to adding more cabinets. The Committee
suggested that if the Guild desired to use the existing cabinets and
install locks on them, that the Guild then contact the Women's Club.
TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER MAINTENANCE:
The Committee noted that the exterior of the Tourist Information Center
needs maintenance and repair. The contract between the Town and the
Chamber of Commerce gives the Chamber of. Commerce the responsibility
to maintain the interior and exterior of the building. The Committee
recommends sending a letter to the Chamber of Commerce informing it of
the needed exterior repairs.
STATE HIGHWAY ACCESS CODE:
The State Highway Department established an Access Code and requests
that local governments administer it. Should local governments desire
the State Highway Department to administer it instead, then such a
request must be submitted by the local government officials. The
Committee recommends requesting the State Highway Department administer
the Access Code and to consider the Town's input on specific requests
in Estes Park.
BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM:
Notification was received from the Colorado Municipal League that
federal funds are available for bridge replacement on an 80/20 ratio.
The Committee recommends submitting a preliminary application for the
replacement of the Crags Drive bridge.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING STORM WINDOW BIDDING:
The Committee authorized the Public Works Director to finalize the
specifications for replacing the Municipal Building windows and to
obtain bids on the following alternatives:
