CLEANING SERVICE FOR THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING:
The following bids were received for cleaning the Municipal Building:
Porter Industries $ 859.00/month
Estes Park Janitorial Service $ 1,150.00/month
Village Maintenance Service $ 1,500.00/month
Dave Fetterly of Estes Park Janitorial Service appeared and submitted
a letter in which he states that if his firm were cleaning the Police
Station for the amount presently paid for cleaning, that his bid
for the Municipal Building would be greatly reduced. He expressed
interest in bidding on cleaning the entire Municipal Building in the
future. The Committee recommends accepting Porter Industries' bid
of $859.00 per month.
STREET SWEEPER BIDS:
Bids for a new three -wheeled type street sweeper with single curb
broom were received from the following:
Faris Machinery Company (Elgin Pelican) $48,120.00
Booth -Rouse Equipment Company (FMC-Wayne Model 1-933AH) $48,168.00
H. W. Moore Equipment Company (Mobil Model HLD) $50,995.00
The Committee recommends accepting Faris Machinery Company's bid of
$48,120 for a white street sweeper, adding a two way radio, and obtaining
additional filters.
TECHNICAL ENERGY AUDIT REPORT ON THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING:
The Technical Energy Audit Report of the Municipal Building was received
which recommends the following energy conservation measures:
Project
1. Installing a time clock for the heating and ventilation
system so it will operate only during working hours.
2. Replacing thermostats with timed control thermostats.
3. Add insulation to the roof.
4. Replacing existing windows.
(Estimated payback period of less than eight years)

The Committee reviewed these recommendations and expressed concern
regarding replacing the existing windows which could change the appear-
ance of the Municipal Building. The Committee recommends proceeding
with energy conservation measures #1 and #2 and contacting the archi-
tectural firm which designed the Municipal Building regarding project #4.
SURPLUS AIR COMPRESSOR:
Public Works Director Widmer reported that the Street Department has
an extra stationary air compressor and that the Estes Park Sanitation
District has expressed an interest in purchasing it. The Committee
recommends offering the air compressor to other town departments first

and if they are not interested, then offering it for sale to the
Sanitation District for $800.
BRIDGE INVENTORY REPORT:
The Committee received and reviewed the final bridge inventory report
of Estes Park bridges. The report recommended that the Fall River Lane
and Old Ranger Drive bridges be posted with load limit signs which was
accomplished last fall. The report also recommended that the Crags
Drive bridge be posted with a 17 ton gross load limit sign and the
Ivy Street bridge be posted with a 15 ton gross load limit sign. The
Committee recommends posting the Ivy Street and Crags Drive bridges
as recommended.
CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT RESOLUTION RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Committee received a letter from Mayor Tregent outlining the
portions of the Central Business District Resolution as revised and
recommended by the Central Business District Committee which should
be reviewed by the Public Works Committee for future budget considera-
tions.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
