DENVER RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee ,/April 15, 1982 Committee: Chairman Dannels, Trustees Houston and Wagner Attending: All Also Attending: Mayor Tregent, Town Administrator Hill, Public Works Director Widmer LAKEFRONT STREET EXTENSION: Bill Van Horn, representing Mr. Lynn Kinnie, requested the Committee consider annexing that portion of Lakefront Street which is presently outside town limits. The street is paved and has been maintained pre- viously by the Town. Mr. Kinnie would pay the costs involved in annexing the street which, with a cul-de-sac, would provide access to the lower portion of his lot which he plans to divide. The Committee felt there would be no benefit to the Town to annex that portion of Lakefront Street and, therefore, recommends denial. 1982 STREET IMPROVEMENTS: The Committee reviewed and recommends the street improvements for 1982 as proposed on the attached lists. STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT BRIDGE PROGRAM: A letter was received from the State Highway Department stating that funding is available for bridge projects. The Committee recommends re -applying for funding for the Crags Drive bridge. COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUESTS REGARDING RENTAL OFFICES: A request was received from the Larimer County Health Department for the Town to install additional electrical outlets in Room 201 of the Municipal Building, paint the office rooms, and tint the windows to reduce the glare. According to the lease with the Larimer County Health Department, the additional electrical outlets and window tinting is their responsibility while painting the offices is the responsibility of the Town should the Town feel it is necessary. The Committee directed the Town Administrator to inform the County Health Department of their responsibilities and to review the Town's budget in the fall to see if there is adequate funding to paint the offices. MUNICIPAL BUILDING AREA IMPROVEMENTS: Public Works Director Widmer proposed several small park improvements including installing "in-house" sprinkler systems for the grass area behind the Municipal Building, the grass island by the deposit box and the area by the telephone booth. He also proposed installing a wood fence along the boundary between the Texaco station and the Municipal Building and the phone booth area. The Committee recommends approval. REPORTS: The Municipal Building energy savings for March 1982 was approximately $900. Petitions in favor of annexing the Beaver Point First Addition have been received from more than 50% of the property owners whose ownership comprises more than 50% of the land area. The annexation will be scheduled for Planning Commission consideration soon. Approximately ten miles of centerline and edge striping of streets have been completed. This project was funded through a federally funded program. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
