The following Estes Park area projects are included on the list: Priority #10 - Lake Road. Priority #12 - of U. S. 34 Priority #13 - Priority #17 - Priority #18 - Signalization at U. S. State Highway 7 from Meeker Park to Estes Park. The Committee recommends requesting that Larimer County place the following State Highway projects on the list as Estes Park priorities one, two and three: Priority # 1 - Begin construction of State Highway 7 from the intersection of Highways 36 and 7 to the Town limits. Priority # 2 - Expand U. S. 34 to three lanes from the existing two lanes east of Estes Park to the intersection of U. S. 34 and 36. Priority # 3 - Redesign the intersection of U. S. 36 and State Highway 7. BRIDGE INVENTORY - REINSPECTION: In a letter dated September 30, 1983, the State Department of Highways stated that the bridge inspection and inventory program should be budgeted totally with local funds. The Inspection Program began in the fall of 1979 and has a two-year maximum inspection interval as defined by the U. S. Congress in the Surface Transportation Act of 1978. The cost to inventory and reinspect the Town bridges would be approximately $900-$1,000. Two new bridges need to be added to the inventory and we are past the two-year interval for reinspecting the old bridges. The Committee recommends the Public Works Department go ahead with the bridge inventory and reinspection sometime this fall. JOINT FUEL BID WITH LARIMER COUNTY: Larimer County contacted the Town with regard to a joint effort to bid on fuel. The Town currently bids every few months when we are out of fuel, which takes time and the price fluctuates. A joint fuel bid could save money. The Committee recommends that the Town participate in the joint fuel bid.
