1984 STREET IMPROVEMENTS:
Public Works Director Widmer presented the 1984 Proposed Street
Improvements to the Committee for their review (see attached
list). Director Widmer stated that the priorities for the most
part were established using the Pavement Management Study. Using
a two-inch overlay, this year's budget will allow a little over
three miles of streets to be overlaid. After a brief discussion,
the Committee recommends approval of the 1984 Street Improve-
ments.
REPORTS:
The Riverfront Park drawings and specifications have been de-
livered. Wp haye the deed r the 291 West Elkhorn Avenue and
the old -S AiitS NSgt'aYltI uil inq'h8s been torn down. Because of
the legal problems with the remainder of the property, the park
will not be built this spring. The trash receptacles and benches
for the park were ordered along with the ones the URA ordered for
the streetscape project.
NCE, Inc. will be presenting a price to construct Peacock Park
sometime next month.
The Highway Department informed us that we need to change the
width of the Crags Drive Bridge. The bridge had been 26 feet
wide with two six-foot sidewalks. The deck is now 28 feet wide
with two five-foot sidewalks. The Highway Department approved
the contract but it will cost the Town approximately 20% of
$2,000.00 for the design change.
The streetscape project will impact the Public Works Department.
Mike Mangelsen will be spending several hours a day on the
project to insure that the storm sewer flow lines, etc. are
installed to Town standards. Mike's time will be charged to the
Urban Renewal Authority.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
