RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee April 19, 1984 Committee: Chairman Wood, Trustees Brown and Hix Attending: All Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill, Public Works Director Widmer REQUEST TO USE BOND PARK: A letter submitted by Barry Myers, President of the Fine Arts Guild was submitted to the Committee requesting permission to use Bond Park September 15 and 16, 1984 for the Tenth Annual Festival of Fine Arts and Fine Crafts. The proposed use includes 85 booths. After a discussion the Committee recommends approval for use of Bond Park September 15th and 16th. DUMP BOX BIDS: Public Works Director Widmer presented the attached bids for a Dump Box/Tommy Gate for the Public Works Department. The Committee recommends the bid be awarded to Maxey for a total of $3,784.10. 1984 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BIDS: Public Works Director Widmer presented the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet for the 1984 Street Improvement Project. A change order will be prepared concurrently with the contract to reduce the quantity of asphalt overlay which is larger than the budget allows. The Committee recommends the bid be awarded to Sterling Paving for a total of $175,722.00. RIVERFRONT PARK Director Widmer reported we have received notification of the Grant Award in the amount of $100,000.00. This project ranked eighth among twelve that were tentatively approved. A stipulation was noted in which we cannot proceed with this project pending further notification from the State. The Committee recommends park construction be scheduled to conform to the grant award. PEACOCK PARK: The Committee recommends Town Administrator Hill, Director Widmer and Chairman Wood be authorized to negotiate and award a contract with N.C.E. for Peacock Park. MEETING TIME: After a discussion, it was suggested the Public Works Committee convene every third Thursday of each month at 2:00 P.M. The Committee recommends approval of the meeting date and time. A suggestion was also made to have other Committees convene their meetings at 2:00 P.M. BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee - April 19, 1984 - Page two REQUEST TO USE PARKING LOT #1 Jay Grooters and Scott Webermeier representing the Aspenfest Committee appeared requesting permission to use Parking Lot #1 June 16 and 17, 1984 for the Bavarian Festival Benefit. After a discussion the Committee recommends approval for use of Parking Lot #1 June 16th and 17th. REPORTS: The final design drawings for Crags Drive Bridge are near completion. The project will most likely be bid this summer and constructed in the Fall. An informative discussion was held regarding the Streetscape Project. Public Works Director Widmer has received a letter from Mr. Darrel Todd, Assistant Regional Director for the State Wildlife Division regarding the Fish Hatchery Restoration. FEMA's Denver Office is appealing the previous decision by the Washington Office turning down the funding request for restoring the Fish Hatchery Property. Restoration will not begin until this appeal is completed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
