Also Attending: Mayor Dannels, Town Administrator Hill,
Public Works Director Widmer, Secretary
O'Connor
REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK CONTROL:
Charles Phares and Edward Pohl, representing the Estes Park Urban
Renewal Authority, requested assistance in controlling vehicles,
etc. from being parked on the sidewalks particularly near service
stations. Pedestrian traffic is now being forced to walk in the
street. After discussion, the Committee recommends painting an
eight foot (8') white stripe delineating the setback for the
sidewalks, notifying the property owners of both the short and
long-range plans, and enforcing the sidewalk code regulations.
REQUEST TO MOVE FLAGPOLE FROM STANLEY PARK BUSINESS MANAGER:
Bob Scott, Business Manager - Stanley Park, appeared requesting
to move the flagpole located in Parking Lot #1 to a location near
the rodeo ticket booth. The speakers used with the PA System for
announcing parades, etc. are presently on street light poles that
will be replaced due to the Streetscape Project. The speakers
cannot be placed on the new street light poles which will be
installed in the future. Maintenance of the flagpole will be the
responsibility of Stanley Park. The Committee recommends
approval of this request.
REQUEST FOR FEE INCREASE - S & M TRASH SERVICE:
A letter from S & M Trash Service was submitted to the Committee
requesting a 12% increase from their present monthly service
which would become effective July, 1984. After discussion, the
Committee felt the increase was justified and recommends the
request be approved.
WIEST PARKING LOT:
Director Widmer discussed additional parking for the Wiest
Parking Lot. The Committee recommends Director Widmer be au-
thorized to proceed with negotiations to build additional parking
spaces with a "not to exceed" price of $20,000 which includes the
paving.
REPORTS:
A contract has been signed with NCE, Inc. to build Peacock Park.
The contract is structurally the same as the Streetscape Project
(cost-plus) with a "not to exceed" contract amount of $50,000.00.
Two pedestrian bridges are included in the contract price; one
bridge will be used at a later date for Riverfront Park.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
