PROJECT REQUESTS TO LARIMER COUNTY FOR STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION:
Public Works Director Widmer advised the Committee of a letter
dated October 2, 1984 submitted by the Larimer County Commission-
ers regarding Larimer County's preparation of an annual list of
State Highway Improvement Projects. Following discussion, the
Committee recommends the following projects be submitted:
1. Reconstruct State Highway 7
the Town Limits.
2. Widen U.

34 and 36.

v SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL:
Director Widmer reported on a Snow Removal Meeting held October
16, 1984 with downtown merchants. A "Public Notice" was pub-
lished urging merchants to attend. A letter dated October 15,
1984 submitted by Robert M. Mobus (Estes Park Drug Store) and
copies of telephone messages were submitted for review. Mrs.
Charlotte Miller stated she would like to have the Town remove
snow from the sidewalks. Discussion followed with the Committee
recommending Director Widmer and Attorney White review the
ordinance now in effect, explore other options that might be
available, and that the existing policy remain in effect until
such time as a new ordinance is established.
/TRACTOR BIDS:
Public Works Director Widmer submitted a summary of bids received
for a Model 340B Ford Tractor which will replace the Internation-
al gas tractor. The following firms submitted bids:
1. Universal Tractor Company $18,680 w/trade-in
2. Longmont Farm Supply $18,967
3. New Holland $21,026.02

The Committee recommends the Universal Tractor Company bid of
$18,680 w/trade-in be approved.
v FACILITY ACCESSIBILITY STUDY:
Director Widmer distributed the Facility Accessibility Study
prepared by Building Inspector Jones and Planner Stamey regarding
handicap accessibility to public facilities. The Committee
recommends the study be taken under review and discussed further
at the next regularly scheduled Public Works Committee Meeting
with Building Inspector Jones and Planner Stamey also attending.

REPORTS:
Meeting all State Highway requirements, Wycon Construction
Company was the successful bidder for the Crags Drive Bridge.
Snowplowing operations have changed with the Public Works Depart-
ment "borrowing" a Water Department employee and vehicle thus
operating a total of four snowplows. This addition will improve
efficiency and make better use of Town equipment.
The Committee discussed vehicles being parked for extended
periods of time in public parking lots and recommends no over-
night parking be allowed.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
