TRASH SERVICES - REQUEST TO BID:
A letter dated May 30, 1984 written by A-1 Trash Service was
submitted to the Committee. The letter requested a contract for
trash removal services be bid again this year in lieu of extend-
ing the 1983 contract with S & M Trash Service. After dis-
cussion, the Committee recommends a one-year bid contract for
trash removal services be instituted and that Director Widmer be
authorized to advertise for bids with the contract to begin
August 1, 1984.
AIR COMPRESSOR BIDS:
Public Works Director Widmer presented the following bids for an
air compressor for the Public Works Department:

The Committee recommends the bid be awarded to Sullair Rocky
Mountain, Inc. for a total bid price of $10,580.00.
SNOWPLOWING REPORT:
For information purposes, Director Widmer submitted a snowplowing
report for the 1983-84 "snow season." Fifty-three days is the
total number of days of plowing; and 1.94" of snow is the average
storm snowfall. The cost per mile for snowplowing is $1,015.00.
SIDEWALK REPAIRS:
Due to a request received regarding the sidewalks adjacent to the
telephone company shop building and the Post Office, Director
Widmer investigated the condition of the sidewalks. Both areas
were discovered to be in need of repair and the Committee
recommends Director Widmer proceed with the standard process of
notifying the property owners of their responsibility to repair
the damaged sidewalks.
VIRGINIA DRIVE/PARK LANE LANDSCAPING:
An area overlooked when the intersection alignment took place
last year is Virginia Drive/Park Lane. Director Widmer obtained
a bid proposal from Chief's Landscaping to tier the area with
boulders, add planting pockets and a sprinkling system for a

total price of $1,264.00. The Committee recommends approval of
the landscaping project for this area.
REQUEST TO USE PARKING LOT #1 - INTERNATIONAL ASPENFEST:
Mr. Jay Grooters, representing the International Aspenfest
Committee, presented a letter to the Committee requesting use of
Parking Lot #1 September 15-16 and September 22-23, 1984. The
Committee was advised of the possible use of a 40'x90' tent.
Discussion followed. The Committee recommends approval of the
request to use Parking Lot #1, however, the recommendation was
also made that the use of the tent only be permitted if permanent
and flush anchors were installed which met with the Committee's
approval.
REPORTS:
The sidewalk control striping denoting the 8' setback line has
been completed and Police Chief Ault has informed the owners of
the Husky and Conoco Service Stations of the short and long-range
curb -cut plans.
Excavation and paving of the Wiest Parking Lot has been complet-
ed. Twelve parking spaces were gained. The total contract price
for this project was approximately $17,000.00.
The final design review of the Crags Drive Bridge has been
completed. Work is scheduled to begin in September or October,
1984 with completion of the project during the winter season. A
concrete parapet wall three feet high was designed. Following
discussion, the Committee recommends the parapet wall be reduced
to 6" and then have the guardrail run across the entire bridge.
The bridge is an 80/20 federally -funded project.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
