The following bids were received on April 16, 1985 for the Police
Department Computer Room Remodel:

Public Works Director Widmer stated warranty service work, if
needed, would be performed by the Town Mechanic. Also requested
was a two-way radio in the amount of $1,275. The grader cur-
rently being used will be the trade-in vehicle. The Committee
recommends the low bid in the amount of $67,937 submitted by
MacDonald Equipment with the inclusion of the two-way radio
in
the amount of $1,275 be accepted making a total bid package price
of $69,212. Total amount budgeted was $74,422.

The Committee recommends awarding the low bid in the amount of
$9,142 to Boyd Distributors for the Jacobson T-2000 turf truck.
NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK - AUTHORIZATION FOR "OPEN HOUSE":
National Public Works Week is scheduled for May 19 - 25, 1985.
In an effort to bring greater awareness to the general public,
Public Works Director Widmer requested authorization to hold an
"Open House" for the Public Works Department on Saturday, May
18th. A proclamation concerning National Public Works Week was
also presented. The Committee recommends approval of the "Open
House" May 18, 1985 for National Public Works Week with the
location to be determined at a later date.
STATE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT - DISCUSSION:
Public Works Director Widmer submitted a copy of a "maintenance
contract" which the State uses between themselves and cities,
counties or towns whereby the maintenance of the State Highway
System inside the entity's jurisdiction is maintained by the
entity themselves in lieu of the State. All painting, major
overlaying, signing, traffic control, etc. would remain the
responsibility of the State. Snow removal and patching of "pot
holes" would be the responsibility of the Town. Pending further
