EAST RIVERSIDE DRIVE - REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK:
Director Widmer presented a letter dated January 30, 1985 submit-
ted by Sally S. Carlin, The Athletic Endeavor located in the
Miners Exchange Building. Ms. Carlin requested a sidewalk on the
east side of Riverside Drive. Director Widmer also submitted a
map of the area and several photographs. An estimated cost to
install 160'± of 8' wide sidewalk, including curb and gutter is
$7,000.00. A possibility also exists that an inlet pipe at the
bridge would be needed. Ms. Susan Swickard, Talking Teddy/Audio
Video of Estes Park, also expressed concern regarding pedestrian
safety near the Miners Exchange Building. Ms. Rosener, repre-
senting the property owner, stated the owner was aware of the
situation; however, a financial plan to install the sidewalk had
not yet been initiated. Normal procedure is to allow one 24-26'
curb cut per property. The Committee discussed sed and profile"

Municipal Code Regulations requiring sidewalks. The Committee
recommends the property owner be asked, on a volunteer basis, to
install a 6' wide sidewalk, curb and gutter from the north edge
of the building housing the "Frame Works" to the bridge, tapering
the sidewalk to 8' from the Frame Works building south,
installing a 24' curb cut at the building housing the

Doll Shoppe and Clinic" (120 East Riverside Drive),
talling a
16/18' curb cut on the south side of the Frame Works building
(130 East Riverside Drive) and that the installation be completed
by June 1, 1985.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING - REQUEST FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT REMODEL:
Public Works Director Widmer submitted a sketch of the proposed
Police Department remodeling. Acting Police Chief Elste stated
the remodeling would create a new office for the micro -computer.
Following discussion, the Committee recommends staff obtain cost
estimates on all available options and submitting the estimates
to the Committee for their review.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING - ADDITIONAL OFFICE SPACE:
As referred by the Light and Power Committee in their meeting
held February 13, 1985, the Committee reviewed the need for
additional office space for the Utilities/Engineering Depart-
ments. A meeting has been arranged between

and installing the associated equipment for a total expenditure
of $6,174±.
GRADER - AUTHORIZATION TO BID:
Public Works Director Widmer requested authorization to begin the
bidding process for a new grader. $74,400 has been budgeted in
1985. The "mid -size" type of grader is desired. The grader now
being operated will be used as a trade-in. The Committee recom-
mends authorizing Public Works Director Widmer to begin the
proposal process to bid a grader.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS - REQUEST TO REBID TOWN'S SERVICE:
A letter dated January 16, 1985 submitted by John Marshall,
representing Peak Fire Equipment, was presented. Mr. Marshall
requested the opportunity to bid on the fire extinguisher service
used by the Town. The Committee recommends Director Widmer be
authorized to negotiate a contract between the firms of Peak Fire
Equipment and Zigler Fire Extinguisher Service.
REPORTS:
Director Widmer stated the contractor, R. C. Health Construction
Company, constructing Streetscape II is close to being on sched-
ule and the project is running smoothly.
The Crags Drive Bridge project has been re -activated. There is a
possibility the bridge could be opened in the next two months.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
