CLEANING SERVICES - REVIEW OF BIDS. The Committee reviewed the following bids for cleaning services: Municipal Building Triple C Cleaning $ 9,240.00/Year J & S/Hover Company 10,885.23/",480.00/" Smile Tile Company 1515,480.00/" Soleil Company The bidding contract is for a period of two (2) years. The low bidder, Triple C, currently provides the cleaning services for the Building, and they have performed in an excellent manner. $r.240.00/y arttee submitted byds the Tr Triple Cow bid in Cleaning the amount of ,9, be accepted. Restrooms Light and Power, Street and Water Shops two-year cleaning contract for the restrooms located at the Towns three (3) oedr t service facilities were also lhe solicited: $ 480.00/Year Triple C Cleaning 1,200.00/" Soleil Company 2,076.00/" Smile Tile Company 7,344.00/" J & S/Hover Company The Committee recommends accepting the low bid in the amount of $480.00/Year submitted by Triple C Cleaning. Poliartment Bids for the Police Department were: 420.00/Year Triple C Cleaning •,,,,, $3,420.00/" Smile Tile Company ......• ... 4,248.0/" J & S/Hover Company 4,390.00/" Soleil Company .......•••'•" This contracts also covers a two-year period. The Committee recommends accepting the low bid in the amount of $3,420.00/year submitted by Triple C Cleaning. Public Restrooms 2-yearTcontract was amended from the previous contract tohis during the summer season (May 1 include two cleanings/day BRADFORO PUBLISHING CO, RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee - February 15, 1990 - Page two - September 30) and one cleaning/day during the winter season (October 1 - April 30). Bids were as follows: J & S/Hover Company Smile Tile Company $10,861.13/Year 11,768.00/" The Committee recommends accepting the low bid in the amount of $10,861.13/year submitted by J & S/Hover Company. Staff will emphasize that portion of the contract pertaining to the Contractor's responsibility to open and close all public restrooms to ensure this service is performed satisfactori- ly. TRASH COLLECTION SERVICE - REVIEW OF BIDS. The Committee also reviewed the following bids for trash col- lection services: S & M Trash Service $11,655.90/Year A-1 Trash Service 13,037.52/" S & M Trash, the Town's current provider of this service has proved very satisfactory. The Committee recommends accept- ing the low bid in the amount of $11,655.90/year submitted by S & M Trash Service. WATER DESIGN WORK ORDERS - REVIEW. High Street - 12" Water Line. In a memorandum dated February 12, 1990, Assistant Public Works Director Linnane advised that the proposed installation of a 12" water line on High Street will connect the new water lines on Moccasin and Stanley Avenue. Immediate benefits from this interconnect will be increased fire protection, and increased water pressure to the Hospital and surrounding area. A negotiated price for design and construction management, submitted by Rocky Mountain Consultants e (RMC), RM ),coil $9,195. This price represents 13.5% of the the on- struction cost. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee - February 15, 1990 - Page three FALL RIVER WATER TREATMENT PLANT: PURIFICATION EQUIPMENT - REVIEW OF BID. Installation of purification equipment, necessitated by the EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, include a Turbidimeter, Chlorine Analyz- er, and pH Meter. Hach Chemical submitted a bid in the amount of $6,815 for SCADA-compatible equipment, similar to that installed at the Glacier Treatment Plant. The bid is within budget, and the Committee recommends approval of the Hach Chemical bid for $6,815.00. WATER TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT - REVIEW OF BIDS. The Committee reviewed the bid for a utility box for a 1985 4x4 Pickup submitted Layton Truck Equipment Company. The state bid price for a full-sized utility box is $2,829. The bid is within the budget, and the Committee recommends approval of the $2,829.00 expenditure. PARKING LOT #2 - ANTIQUE CAR RALLY. Town Administrator Klaphake reported that an Antique Car Raily is scheduled to take place May 26. The one -day only event is in need of a parking/display area. Following discussion, the Committee recommends Parking Lot #2 (Estes Country Kitchen Lot) be designated for use by the Raily May 26, 1990. REPORTS. The Committee reviewed the Customer Service Response and Water Reports for January, 1990. Staff reported that due to mechanical problems, 2 snowplows have been unavailable. This situation will be remedied as soon as possible. Assistant Public Works Director Linnane briefed the Committee on Water Consultant Projects currently underway, including the Western Interconnect, Phase 2 Project, Fall River Line, Financial Plan, Marys Lake Treatment Plant, Pedestrian Bridge, Cascade, and Backwash Metering. George Clausen/RMC, briefed the Committee on the Corrosion Control Report, commenting that when this extensive program begins, the start-up will cause an extremely high amount of "red water" complaints. The program must be started times (summer), and Mr. Clausen is preparing cost -benefit comparison which will analyze the benefits versus the adverse impacts of start-up. The Corrosion Control Report will be submitted for consideration during the March Committee meeting. There being no further business, Chairman Aldrich adjourned the meeting at 3:00 P.M.
