Trustee Barker called the meeting of the Public Works Committee to order
at 2:00 P.M.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUILDING - LEASE RENEWAL
The Committee reviewed correspondence from the Estes Park Area Chamber of
Commerce. The letter informed the Town that the Chamber intends to
exercise their option to renew the lease on the building located at 500 Big
Thompson Avenue for the term of five (5) years at the rate of $1.00 per
year, according to the terms of the present lease agreement dated January
28, 1986. A $5.00 check was included with the letter. The Committee
recommends approval of the lease, expiring December 31, 1995.
REPORTS:
The Committee reviewed the Citizen Service Response and the Water Reports
for October.
Director Linnane reported on the status of the current waterline projects:
Western Intertie, Phase 3 is 90% complete; Fall River Project is 90%
complete with work on schedule; Bailey Lane Project is 95% complete; Marys
Lake Water Treatment Plant is still in review stage with environmental
review complete.
Raw Water Study prepared by Rocky Mountain Consultants confirmed that the
Augmentation Plan should proceed. Scope of services will be presented at
the next Committee meeting.
Stanley Avenue Drainage Project is complete.
West Riverside Park, Phase IV, Demolition Project is partially complete.
Snowplowing preparations have been made. The Police Department will drive
routes before 3:00 A.M. when it is snowing, and the Public Works duty man
will contact the Police Department at 3:00 A.M. for particular information
pertaining to snowplowing efforts. The school area will be plowed between
6:00-6:30 A.M. and again as needed. Moccasin Bypass will be sanded before
quitting time and will be plowed between 7:00-7:30 A.M. and watched
carefully.
Jack Ford will retire January 2, 1991, leaving a vacancy in the Street
Department Supervisor's position. Director Linnane will interview in-house
in December and will have the position filled before January 2, 1991.
The Conference Center construction is on schedule.
Staff reported that home mail delivery continues to be discussed by the
Town and Post Office representatives.
There will be no Public Works Committee meeting in December.
There being no further business, Trustee Barker adjourned the meeting at
3:00 P.M. for a _of the Conference Center construction site.
