previous Committee meeting, is recommended to the Board of Trustees
for their final approval.
DUMP PERMITS:
The Committee discussed the need and advisability of changing the dump
permit schedule for 1970. After considerable discussion, the Committee
recommends the basic dump fee remain the same for 1970.
The following special dump permits were discussed and the Town Admini-
strator was instructed to contact the agencies involved and negotiate
for equitable dump permit fees:
U. S. Forest Service, Bureau of Reclamation
and State Highway Department.
REFUSE SHREDDER:
Chairman Erickson reported to the Committee on his visit, along with
several Councilmen and the Town Administrator, to the factory in
Albuquerque, New Mexico that manufactures shredders. The advisability
of this type of machine for Estes Park was discussed at length. The
Committee will continue to study this method of refuse disposal, more
particularly county participation and federal aid. Mr. Parker reported
that the dump processed 20,000 yards of packed refuse last year. This
refuse weighs about 350 pounds a yard.
WILBUR RACY SIGN REQUEST:
Mr. Wilbur L. Racy of Grand View Lodge, has submitted a request to
replace the present Grand View Lodge sign on city property near the
entrance to the dump. This request was referred to the Public Sani-
tation Committee from the Board of Trustees. Due to Larimer County
requirements that prohibit the placement of any directional sign on
a property other than the owners, the Committee recommends the above
request be denied.
