Hill WAGE AND SALARY STUDY: The United States Civil Service Commission Technical Assistance Agreement dated August 29, 1973, was reviewed at length by the Committee, The total cost of the work program is $3,711.00, of which the Town will fund $1,000,00 plus some in kind services. The Committee recommends this agreemente epproved PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT: The Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that the following reorganization be enacted on November 1, 1973: 1. A Public Works, Engineering and Planning Department is established with Mr. William Van Horn as Diiector. 2, The Public Works Department shall be responsible for streets, pars, parking lots, public buildings, building inspection and other miscellaneous duties to be assigned, The Water Superintendeot, Mr. V. L. McCracken, shall have Mr, Everett Rattan and Mr, Leander Goracke es department employees in the Water Department, 4. The Public Works Director, Mr. Van Rota, shall have Mr, Teller, Mr. Caravello and Mr. Stuva as permanent employees. Mr, Van Horn is authorized to employee a street superintendent subject to the approval of the Town Administrator and the confirmation of the Board of Trustees, 5, The present Water and Street Department Shop will be the Water Department Shop with the exception of the two bays on the Easterly end of the building. These two bays will he assigned to the Public Works Department. The present Light and Power Service Building will be assigned to the Public Works Department. 6 Vehicles will remain as they are now designated i,e, W-2, W-10, W-11, W-12 in the Water Department and ail others in Public Works. 7. Miscellaneous equipment other than vehicles will be assigned by the co-operation of Mr, McCracken and Mr. Van Horn. 8. Other changes necessary to effect this reorganization will be co-ordinated by the Town Administrator, Water Superintendent and the Public Works Director, 9. An organization chart of the reorganization is attached to these proceedings. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Administrative Committee September 7, 1973 Page two LETTERHEAD: The completion of the new Municipal Building requires a new letterhead. Mr. Prosser has agreed to study this matter and make suggestions to the Committee. BANKING: The Town Administrator and Town Auditor will study the advantages of a banking services bid and report to the Committee. Both local banks will be contacted for their advise. Due to the lateness of the hour, the Committee agreed to adjourn and have another meeting on September 13, 1973.
