HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Administrative Committee 1985-10-09C RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Administrative Committee October 9,1985 Committee:Chairman Hix,Trustees Graves and Laing Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Dannels,Trustee Aldrich,Town Administrator Hill,Finance Officer Vavra, Police Chief Ault,Harv Neely,Bob Schultz, and Clerk O’Connor absent:None 1986 BUDGET REQUESTS: The Committee reviewed and discussed the 1986 budget requests submitted by the following agencies: Harv Neely/Larimer County Human Development —The amount requested for 1986 was $8,000 which is up 33—1/3%from 1985 ($6,000).Mr.Neely submitted Estes Park Human Development Client Statistics indicating 84%of the clients are citi zens residing inside Town limits;4%of the clients are transients;and 9%are clients residing in Larimer County. Programs currently consist of:Economic Development, Health and Nutrition,Energy,Transportation,General Community Programming,Volunteerism and Housing.The Human Development Agency receives funding through the Federal Government,Larimer County and the Town of Estes Park; however,Federal Funding will no longer be available in 1987. Retired Senior Volunteer Program -In a letter dated July 26,1985,Helen Platt,R.S.V.P.Coordinator for Estes Park requested $1,500.The request is a 20%increase from last year ($1,250).R.S.V.P.serves as a volunteer coordinating service which matches the skills of retirees to the needs of local community agencies. Bob Schultz,President/Estes Park Senior Center,Inc.-Mr. Schultz requested $5,000 which is the same amount that was requested for the 1985 Budget.Additional funding is received through the Town of Estes Park;Larimer County does not participate.Primary projects for the Center include completing the window installation for a portion of the building,revamping the heating plant which will distribute the heat more evenly,and complete the exterior remodeling of the building. 1986 MILL LEVY: The Committee reviewed a resolution setting mill levies for general property taxes for 1986.The levy will help defray the cost of government for the Town of Estes Park for the 1986 budget year.The Committee recommends setting a mill levy of 4.00 mills.
