HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Administrative Committee 1981-04-08(O BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Administrative Committee April 8,1981 Committee:Chairman Dannels,Trustees Burgess and Wagner Attending:All Also attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill The Committee discussed various rules and regulations regarding the Town of Estes Park employees and recommends the rules be amended as follows: 3.Emergency Leave Employee leave with pay may be granted to employees with the approval of the Town Administrator for a period not to exceed five consecutive working days in the event of an emergency or death in the employee’s immediate family.“EmergencyT’,as used herein,means any critical illness or injury requiring hospitalization,or other situation of a critical nature.“Immediate Family”is defined as the employee’s spouse,children,grandchildren,brothers,sisters,parents,parents— in—law or grandparents. 4.Jury Leave An employee may be granted leave with full pay to perform jury duty or when serving,under subpoena,as a witness before any court or commission.Any compensation,other than reimbursement of expenses, received by the employee under such circumstances shall be refunded to the Town of Estes Park unless the employee elects to have such time charged to vacation leave. 5.Holidays (1)The following holidays will be observed and are granted with pay to all employees: Nominal Date Holiday January 1 New Year’s Day February (3rd Monday)Washington’s Birthday May (Last Monday)Memorial Day July 4th Independence Day September fist Monday)Labor Day November 11th Veteran’s Day November (4th Thursday)Thanksgiving December 24th Christmas Eve (half day) December 25th Christmas Day December 31st New Year’s Eve (half day) Holidays which occur on a Saturday will be observed on the preceding Friday and those which occur on a Sunday will be observed the following Monday. (2)Part—time employees receive holiday pay on a prorated basis. (3)Holidays which occur during an employee’s absence due to vacation or sickness shall not be counted as vacation or sick leave. (4)Employees,other than Department Supervisors and Public Safety employees,required to work holidays shall receive double pay for working the holiday. (5)Public Safety employees will receive compensatory time off for holidays worked and it shall be used within twelve months of the time accrued.
