HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Public Buildings and Parks Committee 1970-03-0900 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Buildings and Parks Committee March 9,1970 Committee:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Grove and Steele Attending:Chairman Petrocine;Trustee Steele Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill Absent:Trustee Grove RODEO GROUNDS CONCESSION STAND: Mr.Leon H.Sweetland,Jr.appeared before the Committee representing the Estes Park Lions Club.Mr.Sweetland submitted the financial re ports on the Rodeo Grounds Concession stand for the years 1968-1969 and also a letter,dated March 4,1970,regarding the rebuilding of the stand,it’s furnishings and the contract agreement between the Town of Estes Park and the Estes Park Lions Club.These documents are attached to and made a part of these proceedings.The Committee reconi mends to the Board of Trustees that the Lions Club be allowed to proceed as stated in their letter of March 4,1970. ESTES PARK COURT BUILDINGS: Chairman Petrocine announced to the Committee a new door was in the process of being installed at the building formerly occupied as the Chief Rangers office. We also request that the insurance money received from the damage claim by the Town of Estes Park,$2925.00,the Towns shire of operation profit of the concession stand for the years 1968 and 1969,8472.87 (statements attached)be used for this rebuilding and refurnishing project and the repair of the grandstand. The estimated cost of rebuilding,repair and refinishing is $4900.00.The difference in the cost will be borne by the Lions Club and deduotod from the Towns share of profit until full pay— .15 ccoune or. Since th current 5iyear contract between the Town of Estes Park and the Lions Club has expired,we would appreciate a renewal of the operating contract for another 5—year period,the privilege of which is stated in the expired contract. With the renewal of the contract,the Lions Club requests a clause be added stating that all equipment and improvements within the stand,become Town property,with the exclusion of grills9 at the time of placement and that they be covered by the Town’s insur ance program.A physical inventory and value report will be sup— plied after robuildingand.refurnishing.
