Mr.Eugene Green appeared before the Committee and requested an opinion
as to his qualifications in bidding the proposed insurance package.The
Committee agreed that Mr.Green does not qualify under the requirements
as contained in the invitation to bid.The Committee decided to table
this question for further study.
The Committee recommends the Building Inspector be directed to obtain
bids on painting the Town Hall,Police and Fire Buildings and the
Chamber of Commerce.The colors shall be the same as those being used
on the Library.Bids shall be advertised to be opened at the regular
Board of Trustees meeting on March 24,1969.
The Committee reviewed the letter,dated February 10,1969,from the
Building Inspector regarding the needed repairs to Town sidewalks and
curbs.The Committee decided to postpone sidewalk repair on parking
lot number two pending beautification plans by the Beautification
Committee.The Committee recommends the Street Superintendent have
the curb,gutter and sidewalk around the fire plug,approximately twenty
feet of sidewalk along Elkhorn Avenue in front of Bond Park and about
twelve feet of sidewalk along the front of the Chamber of Commerce,
repaired or replaced.
The Committee recommends the public rest rooms located in parking lot
number two be opened each weekend (Friday,Saturday and Sunday)from
10:00 A.M.to 6:00 P.M.The Committee also recommended “closed”signs
be placed on the rest room doors Monday through Thursday.
Building Inspector Mowery reviewed the plans and specifications for
the proposed horse barns.Drainage problems were discussed.Several
minor changes were made in the specifications for the barns.
The Committee again reviewed the insurance specifications as to the
requirements on bidders.After considerable discussion the Committee
recommends no changes be made in the invitation to bid.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
