LIONS CLUB CONCESSION STAND:
Mr.Robert Dekker and Mr.Joel Horton appeared before the Committee re
presenting the Estes Park Lions Club. The purpose of this meeting was
to discuss the repair of the concession stand at Stanley Park that was
recently damaged by fire. After considerable discussion, the Public
Buildings and Parks Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that
the following suggestions be approved:
1.That the Estes Park Lions Club will continue as concessionaires
at Stanley Park and that the present contract that expires June 15,1970
be extended.
2.A Committee from the Lions Club will submit to the Town proposed
plans and specifications for re-building the concession stand.
3.Any funds expended by the Lions Club in connection with the re
building and re-furnishing of the concession stand will be credited to
the agreement.
BUEL F.PORTER MEMORIAL:
Mayor Ronald C.Brodie referred a letter,dated November 10,1969,from
the Estes Park Cottage and Motel Association to the Town of Estes Park
in regard to a Buel F.Porter memorial. The ideas expressed in the
letter received favorable consideration from this Committee. The
Committee recommends a letter be written to the Estes Park Cottage and
Motel Association expressing the Town’s approval of the idea and sugges
ting that the Estes Park Cottage and Motel Association proceed with
their plans for this memorial.
TRAILER RALLY:
The Square Wheels Trailer Club of Colorado has requested that the 75
trailer minimum at Stanley Park be lowered to 35 for their proposed rally
on May 29,30 and 31,1970.The Committee recommends to the Board of
Trustees that this minimum not be lowered due to the fact that private
trailer parks are capable of handling rallies smaller than 75 in number.
BOILER:
The Committee recommends that the boiler previously used to provide heat
for the Municipal Buildings be given away in return for its complete re
moval.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
