RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Buildings &Parks Committee January 18,1968 Committee:Chairman Swanson;Trustees Brodie and Tregent Attending:Chairman Swanson;Trustees Brodie and Tregent Also Attending:Town Clerk Hill The Committee recommends the Town Attorney be instructed to draw the nec essary specifications for a public bid on all Town insurance.The insurance report of Walsh,Gill &Smith,Inc.shall be used as a guide for these specifications.The Committee suggests $100.00 deductible collision insurance be carried on the following vehicles: Fire Trucks 2 Police Cars 2 Line Truck 1 Bucket Truck 1 The Town Attorney shall advise the Town on the qualifications required for agencies bidding the above mentioned insurance package. The Committee studied the attached parking design plans for the Post Office parking lot.These plans will be studied by the proper persons and discussed again at the next meeting of the Committee. Chairman Swanson reported the Police Chief has requested the former Chief Rangers office on Buenna Vista Terrace as a new Police Building.The Police Chief reported the Police Department would need a cement block addition built on the rear of the building to house a four cell jail. An access road would also be needed to serve the jail.The Chairman of the Public Buildings and Parks Committee referred this request to the Police Committee. The Committee discussed numbering or naming the public parking lots. The Committee recommends the parking lots be numbered as follows: 1.Athletic Field parking lot. 2.Conoco parking lot. 3.Post Office parking lot. 4.American Legion parking lot. 5.Wiest parking lot. The Committee also discussed signing the lots with a new standard Town sign.It was mentioned the Beautification Committee is studying the possibility of establishing a new standard sign to be used for all Town purposes other than traffic.The Committee discussed the possiblity of having the Chamber of Commerce mark the parking lot numbers on their directional map. The Committee discussed the Public Rest Rooms needed in different sections of the Town.Adequate locations do not seem to be available.The Comm ittee discussed placing directional signs throughout the Town directing people to the existing public rest rooms. The Clerk was instructed to place the old National Park Buildings (Women’s Club)on the existing Fire Insurance policy at 907,of value. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
