HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Public Buildings and Parks Committee 1968-12-1900 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Buildings and Parks Committee December 19,1968 Committee:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Steele and Swanson Attending:Chairman Petrocine;Trustee Steele Also Attending:Town Clerk Hill,Street Supt.McCracken Absent:Trustee Swanson The Committee recommended the Town Attorney be instructed to prepare the specifications for all Town insurance for the purpose of obtaining competitive bids. A request to use the former National Park Service headquarters building to practice a violin was denied and referred to the school. The Estes Park Horse Show and Rodeo Committee,represented by President Orville Thomas and members G.F.Brownfield and Glenn Prosser,met with this Committee to discuss the proposed new forty stall horse barn for Stanley Park.The Public Buildings and Parks Committee assured the Rodeo Committee they will recommend the 1969 barn construction if the Arabian contract contains the following provisions: 1.Five year contract. 2.No “kick back”on charges of any type. 3.Stall rent raised $1.00 per stall and provisions to allow additional adjustments in this charge during the contract period. The Rodeo Committee requested the new barn be built east of the chutes inside the track area.Superintendent McCracken was instructed to pro vide a plat of the barn area showing the proposed location sites. W.0.Myers and Jim O’Shea appeared representing the Estes Park Beaut ification Committee for the purpose of finalizing the plans for the federal aid application that must be submitted to the State Fish,Game and Parks Department by December 31,1968. Plans for beautifying parking lots three,four and five were presented and discussed at length. After considerable discussion and due to the limited time in filing aid applications,the Public Buildings and Parks Committee recommends the plan for the number three lot be filed and any balance in aid funds be filed for lots four and five.
