Mr.W.0.Myers,Chairman of the Estes Park Beautification Committee,
appeared and presented a proposed 1969 estimated budget as follows:
Moraine Park Lot #5
Planter Blocks,Trees and shrubs,labor and water
system (flowers by clubs)$8,000.00
Post Office Parking Lot (corner plants,small area
of river bank)1,000.00
Bond Park (after library addition is completed)
Permanent paving in certain areas including
benches and flower pots,indirect,year around
lighting on spruce trees similar to Christmas
time 3,000.00
The Highway Department has agreed to make necessary
changes this fall in drain pipes in all intersection
islands at stop-light at 34—36,fill and rock the
small islands.
Committee to fill and rock big island with shrubs and
rocks provided by Quota Club.Fill and rock ----2,000.00
Town to relocate storage area now along #34 to new
location.This entire area to be landscaped naturally
by cleaning,trimming,etc.with some picnic area,etc.
until decision is made on possible use of site for
visitors center and new Chamber of Commerce location.
Development of this area 10,000.00
Total $24,000.00
Mr.Myers and Mr.Blocker have been in contact with the State Fish,
Game and Parks Department for the purpose of acquiring financial
estimates for Parks Development.The Committee recommends the
Town of Estes Park,under the supervision of Superintendent McCracken,
assume the responsibility for the maintenance and irrigation of all
park projects as soon as the Beautification Committee has the individ
ual projects under way.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
