Mr.William Finlay and Mr.Leon Sweetland,Jr.attended the Committee meet
ing and represented Park School District R-3.Mr.Finlay offered the Town
a $170,000.00 option to purchase the 01d football field located on Elkhorn
Avenue for the amount of $200.00.This option is to expire April 1,1965.
The Public Buildings &Parks Committee accepted the opiion and presentec1
Mr.Finlay with 3 check in the amount of $2fl0.00 made payable to Park School
District R-3.Town Attorney Ernest Hartwell is preparing the legal document.
Street Superintendent McCracken presented plans and specifications for
three additional bays for the Street Department Shop.The Committee approved
the plans and recommends to the Board of Trustees the Town call for bids
on this project to be opened February 8,1965.
The Committee discussed the proposed improvement for parking immediately
east of Crowley’s Restaurant.After considerable discussion and a study
of the proposed traffic pattern in this area,all plans for the improvement
of this ground for parking were tabled.
Superintendent McCracken was given permission to continue the excavation
on Lot 4B Buenna Vista Terrace Addition.
The Committee recommends letters of inquiry be mailed to the architects in
the Ft.Collins,Longmont,Loveland,Boulder area.These letters will be
the preliminary to consider hiring an architect to handle any new or remodel
ing public building projects;such as,court room,utility office,and business
office enlargement.The Committee suggests Building Inspector Hackett
prepare preliminary sketches on the above project.
The request from the Blue Jean Philharmonic Orchestra Association was
tabled by the Committee.
The Clerk reported the Colorado Municipal League is contacting the Portland
Cement Company,and they in turn will furnish the Town with cost estimates
on concrete parking structures.
