The Committee discussed the acquisition of Lots 5B and 6B Buenna Vista Terrace Addition.The Committee recommends the Board of Trustees give the Bond Agency authorization to offer the owner $2,000.00 on behalf of the Town of Estes Park for the purchase of these lots.Superintendent McCracken informed the Committee Lot 43 Buenna Vista Terrace Addition will not be excavated until next fall. Elkhorn Estates has requested fill rock from the Buenna Vista parking lot excavation for the purpose of filling the old lake on their property.The Committee recommends this approval if the Elkhorn Estates people assume all cost. The Committee discussed the football field parking lot at length.Superin tendent McCracken informedthe Committee that due to the soil conditions,this lot must be stabilized to a depth of about 18 inches.The Committee re commends that Superintendent McCracken contact Town Engineer Paul Van Horn to establish the needed grades and elevations.Superintendent McCracken will contact local excavators and obtain prices on the work involved.It was discussed that the Town could probably do this work themselves with the help of two additional dump trucks. The Committee recommends 50 feet on the north end of the football field be reserved for a public park.The Commitee also recommends the Board of Trustees authorize the Public Building &Parks CommitiBe to negotiate with the Recreation District on holding,storing,and processing black dirt from the football field. The Committee instructed Superintendent McCracken to have a back ho clean out Black Canyon Creek where it borders the football field on the north end. The Committee reviewed recommendations received on the four architectural firms as follows:W.C.Muchow,Harold Carver,Bill Sayre,Phillips-Carter Reister.The Committee decided to meet with the firm of Phillips-Carter Reister on Friday,Nay 28,at 10:00 a.m.,for the purpose of discussing engaging this firm to design the proposed Court Room building. It was announced the insurance consulting firm of Walsh,Gill &Smith have indicated their final report will be presented to the Public Building & Parks Committee the week of May 17.
