HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Beautification Committee 1969-07-02On RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Beautification Committee July 2,1969 Committee:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Swanson and Tregent Attending:Chairman Petrocine;Trustee Tregent Also Attending:Wm.0.Myers,Leon Sweetland,Vic McCracken and Dale Hill Absent:Trustee Swanson PARKING LOT NO.1: Superintendent McCracken reported the bumper blocks are almost all in stalled (cost 60 @ $7.50). Mr.Myers reported broken equipment has delayed the job of bringing black moss rock into this area.One load was ordered in order to establish a price for future orders.The Committee is interested in seeing this pro ject proceed. Mr.Myers reported Mr.O’Shea has suggested waiting until this fall or next spring to replace any shrubs that have died. Superintendent McCracken reported the small stone has been placed as proposed in this lot. INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAYS 34 AND 36: Mr.Myers reported the State Highway Department (Mr.A.F.Laushine) informed him they were ready to finish placing rock in this intersection. The original plans called for the Town to move some of the present rock and replace it with fill dirt,then move the rock back to its original position.The Committee suggests it may be less expensive to add add itional decorative rock if available.Superintendent McCracken will contact Mr.Laushine about the possible immediate completion of this project. GLICK BROTHERS GOI COURSE: Mr.Myers reported the State Highway Department permit to install a rail fence on this property was in progress and should be received in the very near future. SPUR 66 HIGHWAY: Mr.Myers reported the State Highway Department is planning to set the fence back about fifteen feet between the City limits and the dump.This area will then be graded and planted. STATE FISH,GAME AND PARKS DEPARTMENT: Mr.Myers reported Mr.Blocker has been in contact with Mr.Don West of the State Fish,Game and Parks Department.It is reported the funds available from the State may be increased from two to four thousand dollars.Mr.West will be in Estes Park soon to meet with both Beau tification Committees. 00 Page two RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Beautification Committee July 2,1969 PARKING LOT NUMBER 2: The Committee discussed the seemed to be the opinion of Avenue was not acceptable. review this plan with Chief Planning Consultant Trafton proposed traffic pattern on this lot.It the Committee that an exit only on Elkhorn The Town Administrator was instructed to Ault,Superintendent McCracken and Town Bean. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT: Mr.Myers reported he has prepaid the architect bill in the amount of $700.00.This included all plans to date.The Committee requested Mr. Myers submit this bill to the Town for payment.The Committee suggests all future funds that are obligated be channeled through this Committee. MYERS BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE: After considerable discussion,the Committee decided there would no longer be a need for a liaison from the Town to attend the Myers Com mittee meetings.Minutes of these meetings should be adequate for proper communication between these two Committees. 1970 BUDGET: Mr.Myers stated his Committee would make recommendations for the 1970 beautification budget by the middle of August. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
