1985 ADVERTISING BUDGET REQUESTS:
Mr. Peter Marsh, Co -Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Advertis-
ing Committee, presented the 1985 Advertising Budget Requests.
According to Rocky Mountain AAA, Estes Park enjoyed an overall
increase in tourist spending of 4% in 1983, while the Northern
Colorado Region saw a decrease of 6.20. This can be read as a
net gain for Estes Park of 10.2% in 1983. Only two National
Parks showed a gain for 1983: Bryce and Rocky Mountain.
Generally, "pre -booked" reservations for accommodations were up
in 1984. However, drive -by requests for lodging were down for
the same period. The reduction of out-of-state print advertising
has had its effect. A positive effect was the television ads
which ran in the 1983 and 1984 Spring season. The Sales Tax
Revenues through June 30, 1984 shows an increase of $28,376 or
5.48% over the same period in 1983. The total requested for
"Ongoing Programs" is $75,400; the total requested for the 1985
Media is $176,107; thus making the Grand Total for the 1985
Advertising Budget Request of $251,507.

Commerce Advertising Budget requests were:
