RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Advertising Committee December 9, 1987 Committee: Chairman Barker, Trustees Dickinson and Hix Attending: All Also Attending: Mayor Dannels, Town Administrator Hill, Finance Officer Vavra, Chamber of Commerce Advertising Committee Members Maureen & Peter Marsh, License, Graham, Myers, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jungbluth, Clerk O'Connor PROPOSAL TO RESTRUCTURE CHAMBER ADVERTISING COMMITTEE - DIS- CUSSION. The Chamber of Commerce Advertising Committee presented a pro- posal requesting the Ad Committee become an Advisory Committee directly to the Town of Estes Park, in lieu of a subcommittee, reporting directly to the Board of Directors/Chamber of Commerce. If approved, the Chamber Ad Committee would be renamed the "The Town of Estes Park Advisory Marketing Committee", and the orga- nizational chart would be as follows: 1. Mayor/Town Board 2. Town of Estes Park Advertising Committee 3. Advisory Marketing Committee 4. Coordinator Members of the Marketing Committee would include the Chairman of the Town's Advertising Committee, a representative from the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Executive Direc- tor of the Chamber of Commerce. At their discretion, the Market- ing Committee could include additional members. The scope of the Marketing Committee would include any form of sales promotion directed toward a specific market to advertise the Town of Estes Park. Responsibilities of the Marketing Committee would include the organization, placement, and produc- tion of future advertising programs. "Second Wind, Ltd." would become an in-house advertising agency. The Chamber of Commerce would continue to respond to advertising inquiries. Town Administrator Hill advised the following items should be submitted to Town Attorney White for his review and comment: 1. The Advertising Agreement. 2. The Bill of Sale for "Second Wind Ltd." 3. The "coordinator" position. Following discussion, the Committee recommends approval of the proposal contingent upon review by Town Attorney White. Chairman Barker reported the Chamber Ad Committee conducts weekly meetings on Friday mornings. It is anticipated the Town of Estes Park Advertising Committee would meet at least on a quarterly basis.
