PROPOSAL TO RESTRUCTURE CHAMBER ADVERTISING COMMITTEE - DIS-
CUSSION.
The Chamber of Commerce Advertising Committee presented a pro-
posal requesting the Ad Committee become an Advisory Committee
directly to the Town of Estes Park, in lieu of a subcommittee,
reporting directly to the Board of Directors/Chamber of Commerce.
If approved, the Chamber Ad Committee would be renamed the "The
Town of Estes Park Advisory Marketing Committee", and the orga-
nizational chart would be as follows:
1. Mayor/Town Board
2. Town of Estes Park Advertising Committee
3. Advisory Marketing Committee
4. Coordinator
Members of the Marketing Committee would include the Chairman of
the Town's Advertising Committee, a representative from the
Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Executive Direc-
tor of the Chamber of Commerce. At their discretion, the Market-
ing Committee could include additional members.
The scope of the Marketing Committee would include any form of
sales promotion directed toward a specific market to advertise
the Town of Estes Park. Responsibilities of the Marketing
Committee would include the organization, placement, and produc-
tion of future advertising programs. "Second Wind, Ltd." would
become an in-house advertising agency.
The Chamber of Commerce would continue to respond to advertising
inquiries.
Town Administrator Hill advised the following items should be
submitted to Town Attorney White for his review and comment:
1. The Advertising Agreement.
2. The Bill of Sale for "Second Wind Ltd."
3. The "coordinator" position.
Following discussion, the Committee recommends approval of the
proposal contingent upon review by Town Attorney White.
Chairman Barker reported the Chamber Ad Committee conducts weekly
meetings on Friday mornings. It is anticipated the Town of Estes
Park Advertising Committee would meet at least on a quarterly
basis.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
