In a recap of 1985, Mr. Marsh indicated the Estes Park Brochure was replaced with a contemporary, single sheet, mul- ti -fold brochure. The slogan for Estes Park emerged: "Where Memories Begin,"; the slogan is also being used for the tele- vision campaign. An analysis for 1985 is as follows: Number of Informational Packets (mailed) up 43% Traffic counts at the Chamber of Commerce up 6% (June, July and August) Sales Tax Revenues up 15% Watts Telephone Line Inquiries up 122% With the addition of new marketing partners, "Contributed Media Exposure", the Chamber of Commerce was not required to purchase all advertising which was presented by the Denver television stations. The Coors Classic also contributed to the advertise- ment of Estes Park. The Chamber has commissioned Colorado University to prepare a "Conversion Study." The study will convert actual mail inquiry responses into actual visits and dollar value. A "Tour Manual" was also developed during 1985. The manual is an essential component used by tour brokers to sell an area. The manual was very well received; it should prove to be a very valuable advertising tool. The 1986 Budget Request is $263,350 indicating an increase of 4.7%. Following is an outline of the proposed 1986 Program: Support Programs (includes Estes Park Brochure Reprint, Coors Classic, Incoming "800" lines, Handling and Distribution, Conversion Study).
