We mist be aware that all mountain areas, winter and summer, are vying for the tourist dollar. Summit County alone has designated one million dollars for advertising and promotion. 4lith this in mind, we herewith submit our advertising program for 1981: DEFINITIONS 1) MARKET a) Cost-effective advertising area within 800 air mile radius of Denver, excluding those sections within this where competing recreational facilities are available. b) Colorado front -range communities. NOTE: Market for any one season may not be the same as any other season. 2) MEDIA a) Magazines: Use to reach middle to upper -middle income families; only where publication has a minimum "table -life" of one month; and only where Publication covers "out -state" populations as well as metro populations within our market. (possible exception: front -range communities). b) Newspapers: Use only in major population areas within market; only in those areas where past experience has shown reasonable cost -per -response efficiency. Should supplement summer magazine advertising. c) Broadcast: Use to reach spot markets; use to promote specific periods or events; generally use to exploit short visit potential of extended front -range market.
