1982 ADVERTISING REPORT:
Chamber of Commerce Advertising. Chairman Peter Marsh, Maureen
Marsh, Larry Stumpp and Dave Davis appeared before the Committee
and gave a brief report on the 1982 advertising results. They
reported that some emergency advertising funds were used after
the flood and taken out of their year-end funds, but they were
able to stay within their 1982 budget. They feel their advertising
efforts in 1982 will start to payoff in 1983.
1983 ADVERTISING BUDGET AND MEDIA SCHEDULE:
Chamber of Commerce Advertising Chairman Peter Marsh submitted
the 1983 Advertising Revision and 1983 Media Schedule to the
Committee, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these
proceedings. The Chamber. of Commerce Committee reported that they
will be entering the television market with six spots a week for
eight weeks starting sometime in May, which will reach the front
range market. The Chamber of Commerce Committee stated that they
are considering the addition of an in -state. Watts line, which would
be a good way to test the television market. The Committee recommends
the Town accept the "Revised" 1983 Advertising Budget and Media
Schedule as submitted by the Chamber of Commerce.
1983 CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ADVERTISING AGREEMENT:
The Town Advertising. Committee and the Chamber of Commerce Advertising
Committee reviewed the Advertising Agreement. Mr. Peter Marsh
stated that the Chamber of Commerce had raised $8,000 of the $15,000
matching funds and stated that they felt confident that they would
raise the additional $7,000. He then asked if they were not able
to raise the whole $15,000, would the Town match dollar for dollar
those funds which were raised by the Chamber. The Committee stated
that they would match the funds raised by the Chamber of Commerce.
The Committee recommends signing the 1983 Chamber of Commerce
Advertising Agreement.
Mr. Larry Stumpp reported that the Chamber of Commerce is attempting
to get the Torchbearers for the 1984 Olympics to run through Estes
Park.
AMERICAN LEGION PROGRAM REQUEST:
The American Legion 1983 Convention will be held in Estes Park
and they are requesting advertising on behalf of their convention.
