RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
Code & Sanitation Committee
November 18, 1971
Committee: Chairman Brownfield; Trustees Dannels and Steele
Attending: Chairman Brownfield; Trustee Dannels
Also Attending: Town Administrator Hill and Building Inspector
Van Horn
Absent: Trustee Steele
PARKING REQUIREMENTS:
The Committee reviewed parking requirements needed for other than build-
ings. The Committee recommends parking requirementsbe based on the
occupancy of the property for those uses primarily outside of a building.
The suggested parking area should be one parking space for 400 square
feet of that portion of the property occupied for the conduct of the
business with the exception of the existing parking areas.
S IGNS :
Sign size is now based on the length of the lot frontage. As this formula
presents many problems the Committee recommends that sign areas bebased
on the size of the business occupancy.
ANTENNAS:
The Committee recommends Section 11.14 be amended to require permitsfor
the installation of antennas with a height of 20 feet above ground level.
HOME OCCUPATIONS:
Some presently operating home occupations such as boot repair and gymna-
siums have caused administrative problems. The Committee reviewed
these problems in detail and instructed Bill Van Horn, to prepare some
suggested changes in the code. These changes will be presented to the
Estes Park Planning Commission at their next meeting on December 21, 1971.
BUILDING PERMIT FEES:
The Committee recommends the Board of Trustees update theirpermit
fees as published by the Uniform Building Code Organization, the fees
to be paid as of January 1, 1972.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
