PAPER DRIVE:
Mrs. Miles, Mrs. Havens and Mr. Henry appeared before the Committee re-
presenting the Estes Park Board of Realtors to explain the realtors
proposed project of collecting newspapers. Paper collected will be
sold to Freidman & Son of Denver for $8.00 per ton. The receipts from
the sales will help pay the cost of collection, etc. The reason for the
drive is to re -cycle the paper, thus conserving the trees and to save
space in the Town's Sanitary Land Fill. The realtors reported Watson
Freight Line has offered to truck the paper to Denver. Service organ-
izations will be requested to assist in the program by the realtors.
The realtors request to the Town is a collection point that will pro-
vide a central storage area. It was suggested the small building used
by the dump patrolman this past summer be used for storage. The furni-
ture in the building could be placed in another location. It was also
pointed out the floor of the building would have to be supported before
being used for heavy storage. The Public Sanitation Committee recommends
to the Board of Trustees the Town cooperate with the Estes Park Board of
Realtors and provide the storage area as requested.
