1976 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE:
Several notices were published in the Trail -Gazette requesting input
and comments on the adoption of the 1976 revised edition of the
Uniform Building Code but no public input was received. The Committee
recommends the Board of Trustees proceed with adopting the 1976
editions of the Uniform Building Code, Mechanical Code and Abatement
of Dangerous Buildings Code.
BUILDING ENERGY EFFICIENT STANDARDS:
The Committee discussed the Model Energy Efficient Standards for
residential and nonresidential construction and will consider
adoption of the "Model Energy Efficiency Construction and Renova-
tion Standards for Nonresidential Buildings" and its appendix which
includes residential standards prior to July 1, 1978.
"MOVING BUILDINGS" CODE SECTION REVISIONS:
The Committee directed Building Inspector Cooper and Town Engineer
Widmer to review the "Moving Buildings" section of the Municipal Code
regarding the intent and feasibility of certain requirements and to
submit suggested changes at the next Committee meeting.
FIRE ZONE I - ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENT:
Building Inspector Cooper pointed out the vagueness of the Uniform
Electrical Code in requiring Fire Zone I commercial buildings to have
rigid electrical conduit. The Committee recommends amending section
5.18 of the Uniform Electrical Code to further specify this require-
ment.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
