ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Member Dike nominated Jack T. Rumley be elected
Member Cheney seconded the motion and upon roll call
unanimously carried.
Member Cheney nominated Byron L. Graves be elected

PENSION FUND REPORT:
The Firemen's Pension Board reviewed the financial statement of
the pension fund as of July 31, 1984. Member Graves moved the
final report be approved. Member Dike seconded the motion and
upon roll call the motion unanimously carried. A copy of this
report is attached to these minutes.
APPLICATIONS FOR PENSIONS:
On August 31, 1983, Gene Brough submitted his application for
pension, which was certified by the Secretary of the Fire Depart-
ment and filed with the Secretary of the Firemen's Pension Board.
The application being in order, Member Dike moved the pension be
granted beginning with the month following the date of applica-
tion. Member Graves seconded the motion and upon roll call the
motion unanimously carried.
Mary Steele has informally submitted his application for pension.
The Board took no further action at this time on Mr. Steele's
application and will write a letter advising an actuarial study
will be made on the pension plan and he will be notified of the
outcome.
ACTUARIAL STUDY - PENSION FUND:
Following discussion, Member Cheney moved the Firemen's Pension
Board institute an actuarial study on the pension plan to: 1.
discover if the retirement time of 20 years of service can be
reduced to a minimum of 10 years; 2. review the financial
situation of retirement benefits to discover if the benefits can
be raised; and 3. that Town Administrator Hill be authorized to
obtain a proposal from an expert in this field to complete the
study with Administrator Hill returning to the Firemen's Pension
Board if the proposal is over $2,000.00.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
