The purpose of this meeting was to meet with the attorney to advise on the correct way to establish the Firemen's Pension Board and the necessary procedures for paying pensions to qualified retired firemen. Town Attorney, Ernest Hartwell suggested that a simple set of by-laws and rules and regulations be approved. Some of the points suggested were as follows: 1. Do not grant pensions until such time as the rules and regulations are adopted by the Board. 2. Require two annual meetings at which time the Board will review the investments and insurance. 3. Special meetings should be called when necessary. 4. A simple application for pension should be prepared. The Firemen's Pension Board decided to have the next meeting on Thursday June 27, 1963 at 7:30 P.M. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. ohn Ramey, Secretary 2
