HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Public Works Committee 1973-08-23RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee August 23,1973 Committee:Chairman Dannels;Trustees Petrocine and Prosser Attending:Chairman Dannels;Trustees Petrocine and Prosser Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Street Superintendent McCracken, Town Engineer/Planner Van Horn NEW MUNICIPAL BUILDING: The Committee recommends the following be added to the Municipal Building Contract: 1.Moss rock across the front of the building -estimated cost $1,000.00. 2.Window in the Town Administrator Secretary’s office - estimated cost $200.00. 3.Square up the outside columns on the North side of the Administratioubuilding —estimated cost $330.00. 4.Install doors on the second floor as needed -estimated cost $l00.00each. Janitorial Service The Committee recommends the proposal dated August 13,1973,from the Village Maintenance Service for the janitorial service on the new Municipal Building,be accepted for a six month period.The cost is $.48 per square foot per year ($10,512.00).A weekly inspection by the owner of the maintenance service shall be added to the agreement. Employment Office The Committee recommends the Employment Office be constructed on the second floor of the Administration Building. Driver’s Licensing Office The Committee recommends the Driver’s License Office be constructed on the first floor of the Administration Building. Unassigned Rooms (2) The Committee recommends the two unassigned rooms on the first floor of the Administration Building be finished.These costs will be subject to the approval of the Chairman of the Public Works Committee. Miscellaneous Town Engineer Van Horn reviewed the miscellaneous additions to date on the new building.The cost of these items is estimated to be about $3,800.00. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Public Works Committee August 23,1973 Page two RIGHT-OF-WAY EASENENT GRANTS -UPPER THOMPSON SANITATION DISTRICT: The Committee approved the form for easements as submitted by the Town Attorney.The Committee recommends the Town request free sewer connection, as needed,for any Municipal Building in return for right-of-way easements. STREET CUTS: The Committee authorized the Town Administrator and Street Superintendent to work with the Town Attorney and revise the street cut permits to re quire both temporary and permanent repair procedures. MACGREGOR AVENUE OVERLAY: The Committee recommends MacGregor Avenue be overlaid from Elkhorn Avenue through the Park Lane intersection.The estimated cost of this is $4,000.00. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: The Committee recommends the National Association of Retired Employees be given a conditional approval on their proposal to plant some trees in the new Bond Park or the Municipal Building area.A final approval will be considered by the Committee upon the completion of the landscaping plans. 1974 BUDGET: The Committee reviewed the proposed preliminary 1974 budget.
