SEWER LINE RIGHT-OF-WAY:
Fred Carpenter and Ray Laessig of the Upper Thompson Sanitation District appeared
before the Committee to discuss the right-of-way thru the Tallant Addition.The
Upper Thompson Sanitation District wishes to change the routing to parallel the
present Estes Park Sanitation District line on the North side of the river.
Upper Thompson Sanitation District will try to locate the East-West sewer line
near the North side of the Tallant Addition,and alone with this installation,
the Upper Thompson Sanitation District will work with the Estes Park Sanitation
District in relocating their sewer line in the same general location.
The Committee recommends the right-of-way be granted subject to the following
conditions:
1.The North-South portion of the line shall be ductile iron pipe;
2.The Town shall be allowed to build on the sewer line;
3.The Upper Thompson Sanitation District shall bear all financial
responsibility should the North-South line malfunction and cause
damage to any buildings built over them for a period of thrity years;
4.The Upper Thompson Sanitation District shall restore the ground
above the sewer line trench to its original elevation and condition.
The Committee recommends that any future construction above or near the sewer line
shall be discussed with the consulting engineers of the Upper Thompson Sanitation
District.
Manager Fred Carpenter wishes to have the October 15th starting date on Elkhorn
Avenue moved up to October 1st.The Committee recommends the Upper Thompson
Sanitation District be allowed to begin sewer line constructirn st Riverside
on October 1st,rather than the previously established date of October 15th.
PARK BENCHES:
Miss Stephanie Flora appeared before the Committee representing the High School
Honor Society and requested permission to plant flowers in Bond Park and paint
the benches in the parks.The colors will be selected by the Honor Society and
the Town will furnish the paint.Public Works Director Van Horn will work with
the Honor Society on this project.
RECREATION DISTRICT BALL FIELD:
The Committee recommends the Recreation District be permitted to use the temporary
ball field in Stanley Park if they will be responsible and see that the cars are
not parked in the infield of the horse track.

FIRE PLUGS:
The Committee recommends three fire plugs be installed as per the long range
fire plug map.These locations are as follows:
1.On the road right-of-way opposite Tract 67;
2.On the James McIntyre Road between Lot 5 and 9;
3.On the Easterly portion of Tract 96.
The Committee recommends that 13 Mueller fire plugs be ordered at a cost estimate
of $389.25 each (subject to price escalation);delivery approximately 12 months.
MUNIC IPAL BUILDING:
A.The Financial report was reviewed by the Committee;
B.The Committee authorized the completion of Meeting Room #2 at an estimated
cost of $5,000.00.The kitchen equipment moved from the library to Meeting Room #2
will require some repair work in the library;
C.The Committee recommends authorizing the purchase of the following:
100 Stacking chairs @ $25.70 $2,570.00
8 Folding tables @ 66.50 532.00
3 Chair caddies @ 15.00 45.00
HAY BARN:
The Committee authorized the purchase of a metal building to be constructed at
Stanley Park and used for hay and straw storage.(Delivery May 31,1974)The
cost will be $11,149.00 plus the foundation.The Rodeo Committee will fund
$6,000.00 of this project.
STREET DEPARTMENT BUILDING:
The Public Works Director discussed the long range plan in the Tallant Addition
as it relates to the appearance of the buildings.The Street Department storage
building needs a new roof and siding.Tabled for a future meeting.
This meeting is adjourned until May 23,1974.
