The Red Cross will pursue the above mentioned locations and if none are
available,the Committee will continue the investigation.
AARP REQUEST REGARDING T0N HALL:
A letter dated January 9,1974,from the Estes Valley Improvement Association
and a letter dated January 8,1974,from the Volunteers in Many Services regard
ing AARP efforts to obtain the use of the Town Hall was read by the Committee.
As the Town of Estes Park has not been advised by AARF as to their request,the
Committee decided to table in consideration of the above mentioned letters.
UPPER ThOMPSON SANITATION DISTRICT:
Mr.Fred Carpenter,Manager of the UTSD,appeared before the Committee and
discussed the engineering plat showing the locations of the new sewer line
on the South side of Fast Elkhorn Avenue.Mr.Carpenter states that UTSD
has the prime responsibility for the installation and that their will be
two separate lines in one ditch.Mr.Carpenter estimates that the construc
tion on Elkhorn Avenue will be approximately four months.The Committee sug
gests this be the months sf-December,January,February and Mareh of the 1974-
75 winter.Mr.Carpenter also presented a plat showing the proposed location
of a sewer line running South on East Riverside Drive to the Ivy Street Bridge
near the Post Office,from there West to West Riverside Drive and then on South
on West Riverside Drive.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING COST:
The Town administrator presented a break down of the estimated cost for the
completion of the new Municipal Building.As of December 31,1973,the
estimated cost is $683,921.79,
OPEN HOUSE -MUNICIPAL BUILDING:
The Committee recommends the following basic procedures for an Open House
to be held in the new Municipal Building on the following dates:

1)Friday,March 29,1974,from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M.,and
Sunday,March 31,1974,from 1:30 to 4:00 P.M.

3)A three (3)page handout should be prepared with two (2)pages
showing the floor plans,aud one (1)page an explanation sheet
describing the building and its functions;
4)It is directed that all department supervisors attend the open
house on both the above dates,and it is requested tnat all Mu
nicipal Building employees and the Board of Trustees attend,
also,if possible;
5)Out ot town invitations should be directed to the cities and
towns in Larimer County,the Larimer County Officials,the
Larimer-Weld Council of Governments,the Colorado Municipal
League and our State Representatives.
SNOW PLOW:
Director of Public Works Van Horn reported that his investigation shows the
most feasible and economical snow plow is the one provided by the Colorado
International Company tnat constructs plows under the State or Colorado bid.
Mr.Van Horn suggested that this plow be the 1700 series,42,000 lbs.GVW,
4 wheel drive with 10 foot plow and dump body sander.The plow and sander
would be removable for regular dump truck use during the summer months.
Delivery date is estimated to be May,1974,and the estimated total cost
is $14,600.00.The Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that the
Director of Public Works be authorized to purchase tfle above mentioned snow
plow and that the funding be by Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.
NEW TOWN MAP:
Director of Public Works Van Horn reported that the new Town Map is nearing
completion.This map contains accurate drawings of all 82 subdivisions within
the Town Of Estes Park and will contain the subdivisions surrounding Estes
Park.The scale is 1 to 600.The final delivery date of the map is estimated
to be February 15,1974.
STREET AND BUILDING EQUIPMENT:
The Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that the Director of Public
Works be authorized to obtain proposals on the following vehicles:
1)1/2 ton pickup;
2)3/4 ton 4 wheel drive truck with snow plow.
The snow plow,estimated to cost approximately $1,000.00,will be funded
with Federal Revenue Sharing Funds,and the equipment will be funded from
the regular 1974 budget.
The Committee authorized the Director of Public Works to purchase a concrete
drill and saw and an impact tool at an estimated cost or $570.00.
GREEN BELT:
The appraiser hired by the Town was to begin tne actual appraisal work on the
East Riverside Green Belt this date.The Town Administrator and Director of
Public Works will pursue this matter.Other areas under consideration for
Green Belt acquisition were discussed at length by the Committee.

FOOT BRIDGE:
Director of Public Works Van Horn submitted the attached plan to construct
a foot bridge leading into the Weist parking lot.This bridge will be con
structed Out of materials on hand with the exception of the concrete and
decking.The total estimated cost of concrete and decking is $300.00.
The Coimnittee authorized the project for construction.
STREET CORRECTIONS:
The Director of Public Works submitted proposed minor street corrections
for Virginia Drive and Morgan Street.These street corrections are neces
sary for the proper locations of the above streets.The Committee authorized
these exchanges.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
