HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Street Committee 1967-08-08nfl [fl RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Street Committee August 8,1967 Committee:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Dannels and Swanson Attending:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Dannels and Swanson Also Attending:Superintendent McCracken and Town Clerk Hill, Town Engineer Paul H.Van Horn Absent:None Mr.Jack Rutt,Project Engineer,and Mr.Heron,Staff Engineer,Public Service Company of Colorado,attended the meeting for the purpose of discussing the installation of the natural gas distribution system in the streets of the Town of Estes Park.Mr.Heron stated construction was scheduled to begin October 2 of this year and will end prior to the 1968 summer season. The Street Committee listed the following streets which will be improved in the spring of 1968: Panorama Drive Morgan Street Willow Lane Hillside Lane North Lane Highland Lane Grand Estates Drive Chiquita Lane Cedar Lane Country Club Drive Chapin Lane Brook Drive Ru de la mont Stanley Circle Community Drive Lexington Lane Lake Front Street Mr.Heron stated the Public Service Company would try to complete the above mentioned streets early in their construction program. The Committee discussed the procedures for street surface repair.Details for this agreement will be worked out at a later date. The Street Committee discussed the Molander Subdivision on Little Prospect. The Subdivision regulations concerning streets would require the following improvements on Juniper Drive and Vista View: 1.A minimum 60’right of way. 2.Drainage culverts if needed. 3.Cul de sac brought up to the minimum standards. 4.Street surface improved to minimum standards. 5.Adequate access street to the lots adjacent to Devon Drive. 6.Surfacing and administration of Prospect Mountain tunnel road. Town Engineer Van Horn and Street Superintendent McCracken are to obtain the necessary rights of way to make Ponderosa Drive a 30’street. Town Engineer Van Horn and Street Superintendent McCracken are to investi gate the drainage problem on North Lane. The Committee was informed that all of the rights of way have been obtained for the town street adjacent to Thompson Pinewood Acres with the exception of one half the cul de sac on the west end of this street.This property is owned by Mr.Ralph Johnson.The Committee decided to await Mr.Johnson’s decision as to whether or not he will sign the necessary deed for the right of way. The Street Committee decided to request $10,000.00 for new street equipment (street grader)in the 1968 budget. 00 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Street Committee (Cont’d.) August 8,1967 The Street Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that the Town enter into a contract to excavate street material at a cost of 25 per yard with the owners of the property on Fall River near the Town water tank,and that the Town also purchase Mr.Fulto&s interest in the gravel pit at a mutually- agreed upon price.
