Mr.Lee Byerly,representing the National Park Hotel property,appeared
before the Committee and requested the Town amend it’s sidewalk regula
tions so that the hotel can replace the present sidewalk and maintain
it’s present level.This will require constructing the steps from the
curb to the sidewalk instead of from the sidewalk to the hotel.Mr.
Byerly also spoke to the Committee about the water drains now located
under the sidewalk.
15.4 Applications for Permits.Any person desiring a permit
to excavate in or obstruct any street,alley,or sidewalk area,
shall make application therefor to the Town Clerk stating in
such application the purpose for the excavation or obstruction,
its size,and the limit of time for which the permit is requested.
No such permit shall be issued until it has been approved by the
Street Superintendent.
15.7 Curbs and Sidewalks -Permits.No sidewalk or curb shall
be constructed or reconstructed,and no openings,driveways or
cuts of any kind shall be made or enlarged in any curb which is
heretofore or hereafter constructed without first obtaining a
permit from the town building inspector.
15.8 Construction of Sidewalks,Curbs and Curb Cuts.All side
walks and curbs shall be constructed on a grade,line and loca
tion established by the Town Engineer and specified in the permit.
Every permit for openings,driveways or cuts in any curb shall
specify the width and location of such openings,driveways or
cuts,and no such permit shall be issued without first being ap
proved by the Board.
The Town Engineer determines the correct sidewalk elevation by existing
elevations of the surrounding curbs and sidewalks.
The Committee discussed the street drainage problem on Virginia Drive
near the Will Spradling residence.
A thirty foot curb cut was requested for the Estes Park Garage located
seventy-five feet West of South St.Vram Avenue on Dunraven Street.
The street committee recommends this curb cut be issued subject to the
culvert and drain being approved by the Street Superintendent.
The dip in the intersection of McGregor Avenue and Elkhorn Avenue was
discussed by the Committee.Superintendent McCracken is to investigate
a remedy and report back to the Committee.
The Street Committee discussed a storm drain near the McGregor Avenue
and Elkhorn Avenue intersection running South to the river.Superin
tendent McCracken is to investigate this drain.

The Street Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that Davis
Street be extended in a southerly direction through Lot 6,Buena Vista
Terrace addition to Moraine Avenue.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
