HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Street Committee 1965-08-19RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Street Committee August 19,1965 Committee:Chairman Harry Tregent,Trustees Dannels and Swanson Attending:Chairman Harry Tregent,Trustees Dannels and Swanson Also Attending:Superintendent V.L.McCracken,Town Clerk Dale G.Hill The Street Committee reviewed the curbs,gutters,and sidewalks in need of repair and following a discussion instructed the Clerk to prepare the neces sary resolution in compliance with the Municipal Code Section 15.12-1 for the consideration of the Board of Trustees at their next regular meeting. Mr.Bernie Dannels appeared before the Committee and requested the Town assume the maintenance of a 30’street on the south side of the Pine Wood Acres Subdivision.The abutting property owners are to complete the neces sary surveying to provide the Town with deeds to a 30’wide street and a 50’ turn-around at the west end of the above mentioned street.The property owners will pay all of the costsin relation to the surveying and the pre paration of the deeds.The Clerk was instructed to check with the Town Attorney on the legality of the Town accepting deeds to this street.The Street Committee recommends the Town of Estes Park assume maintenance of this street upon the completion of the above requirements. The Street Committee reviewed in detail the capital improvements that will be submitted in the 1966 General Fund Budget.A copy of the street improve ments are attached to these minutes. The Clerk reported that Mr.Warren Wolaver,Larimer County Commission, agreed this date to pay the cost of placing a 2”asphalt oil mat on that portion of the streets known as Crags Drive and East Riverside Drive that are outside the corporate limits of Estes Park. The Committee discussed the problems involved in removing snow from the sidewalks in the downtown area. The Committee discussed the drainage problem at the Webb Cottages. After considerable discussion,the Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that the Municipal Code Section 15.4 be amended to change the approval of street excavation from the Building Inspector to the Street Superintendent.The Committee recommends the Town adopt the use of a written permit in regard to street excavation.The Committee reviewed the permit now in use by Larimer County and recommends this permit be adopted for our use.
