BUDGET 1976:
The Committee again reviewed the proposed 1976 Public Works budget.
The Library and Museum budget requests were reviewed.The Town
Administrator was instructed to obtain use figures for the museum.
The Museum Committee also requested Town staff assistance in pre
paring their plans and specifications for the proposed “Centennial
Room.”The Public Works Committee tabled this request pending a
feasibility report from the BiCentennial-Centennial Committee.
STREET SWEEPER:
The Committee recommends the Town order a Tennant 92 Power Sweeper
at a cost of $13,237.(See attached price quotation)
ANNEXATIONS:
The Committee recommends the Town Attorney be instructed to prepare
the necessary Ordinance annexing the following properties to the
Town of Estes Park:
1.The Cliffs Addition
2.Stanley Park Addition
3.Highway First Addition (Highway 34 by-pass)
4.Highway Second Addition (adjacent to Stanley Heights)
5.Highway Third Addition (adjacent to Grand Estates)
6.South Saint Vram Highway Addition
The rural island owned by Otis Whiteside (Silver Land Stables)was
discussed at length.The Director of Public Works will meet with
Mr.Whiteside and discuss the possible annexation.
The rural island owned by George Larberg on Highway 7 was discussed,
however,no action was recommended at this time.
TOWN SUBDIVISION PLATS:
The Committee recommends the Town proceed with subdivision plats
on three areas within the Town that are not now tied to formal
subdivision plats.This action is recommended by the Director of
Public Works.

GREENBELT:
The request from the Fish Creek Water Association regarding possible
greenbelt purchases on Fish Creek was discussed.The Committee
decided to take the request under advisement.
Various parcels of ground within the Town were discussed for possible
additions to the greenbelt program.
The Town Administrator was directed to write the Larimer County
Commission and request financial assistance for future greenbelt
purchases.
OBSTRUCTIONS ON SIDEWALKS:
The Committee recommends no changes be made in the Municipal Code
regarding “obstructions”at this time.
The Director of Public Works reported to the Committee on the Steiner
sidewalk obstruction.A letter will be sent to Mr.Steiner detailing
the time table for Municipal Court.
REPORTS:
Administrative Assistant Robert Middaugh reported on the Public
Building cleaning service.The report is attached.
Mr.Al Avery has been hired as Mechanic and will start work on
August 25,1975.
The East Riverside Drive sidewalk will be scheduled for construction
this fall along with the bridges.
Street construction standards are being written using the State
Highway Department standards as a guide.
The blackout curtains for room 203-204 of the Municipal Building are
ordered.
The work on the Tourist Information Center design is progressing.
Bids could be called as early as September if needed.DMJM-Phillips
Reister is preparing a rendering of the proposed building.Several
utilities are on the site but only the sewer line presents a problem.
The Town Administrator was instructed to meet with the Chamber of
Commerce Manager and discuss financing.
Site preparation is underway on the new Public Works building.Pro
posals will be received on September 1,1975 and reviewed by the
Committee in September.
The new public rest room building will be ready for bid in September.
Several changes have been made in the plans and specifications.
Sterling Sand and Gravel were the successful bidders on the Safer
Roads project for Virginia Drive and Big Horn Lane.

The Town has filed an application with Colorado Counties Inc.re
garding a federal aid project to install three bridges.The total
cost of the project is estimated to be $86,000 with the Town paying
26%and the federal government 74%.
The railroad ties to be used in the West Riverside Park walkway were
delivered today.This park should be completed this year with the
exception of sod.
The bike racks designed by Colorado University will be built and
installed as soon as possible.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
