Water Committee

W.W.Wheeler Engineering Report:
The Committee discussed the W.W.Wheeler Engineering Report at
length.The Committee instructed the Clerk to contact Mr.
Robert Crabtree of Phillips,Carter and Osborn and arrange a
meeting with the Committee at the earliest possible time.
Water Applications:
First National Bank of Fort Collins,Conservator of the Estate
of A.W.Vorhees,Lot 33,Stanley A Addition,request water
service to be reconnected.The Water Committee approved this
request upon payment of the last two years’water bill plus
$48.00 for excavation.
Sam A.Luce,M.0.,Highway 66,one-fourth mile west of the
Town limits,application for a one year extension for water
service to the medical center and one residence approved.
Charles V.Capps,application for a residence on the C.M.
Fulton lot near Beaver Point request tabled.
Thawing Charges:
After considerable discussion on costs related to thawing the
following rates are recommended for adoption:
Urban -Thawing,$25.00 per hour
Rural -Thawing,$30.00 per hour
Quasbarth Subdivision Water Main:
The Clerk and the Superintendent reported on a meeting held in
Fort Collins March 2,1964,with Mr.Ronald H.Strahie,Attorney
for Mrs.Dna Quasbarth.The Water Committee discussed the
possible solutions to the water distribution problem in this
area and recommend the Town install the water system and charge
$300.00 per unit connect fee until the improvement is paid for.
The Committee also recommends the Town Engineer be instructed
to draw plans and also specifications for bids for the above
project.
Water Connect Fees:
The Water Committee discussed at length the current connect fees
now in force.The Water Committee recommends that Chapter 6.6
of the Municipal Code be amended to include the following connect
fees for inside the corporate limits:
1st Unit -$100.00
2nd Unit -75.00
3rd Unit -50.00

The connect fee must be paid and units placed in service at the
time of payment of the fees.
Distribution System:
Superintendent McCracken recommends replacing the 3/4 inch line
serving approximately 16 to 18 units running between the Hilda
Copeland residence and the Fred Wolpert residence with a two-
inch line.The distance of the proposed two-inch line would be
646 feet at an estimated cost of $1,292.00.The Committee
recommends the Town Engineer be instructed to draw plans and
specifications and call for bids on the above project.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
