Water Committee Meeting
August 31,1964

The subject of future annexations and the required water to supply them was
discussed at length.Building Inspector Ted Hackett has been instructed to
prepare a list of all of the subdivisions within the corporate limits of
Estes Park,stating the number of vacant lots in existance at this time.
This study will enable the Committee to judge the number of future require
ments on the Town’s water system.Building Inspector Hackett has also been
instructed to project from past building permit records a ten-year study of
building permits.When the above materials are made available to the Com
mittee,future meetings will be held to determine available water of future
annexations.
The Water Committee recommends the Clerk write the Fish Creek Park Corporation
and inform them the Town will not be able to make a decision on available
water for their proposed annexation until after the current engineering
studies are completed.
In regard to proposed annexations and water planning,the Committee dis
cussed adoption of more restrictive residential zoning,such as Estate No.1-
two acres per residence,Estate No.2-one acre per residence.
Water Applications:
Leon H.Coulter,Fish Creek Road,application for water to one
residence.Application rejected.No out-of-town taps are
permitted and the property is too high to serve.
Estes Park Aerial Tramway,Southwest of Estes Park.Appli
cation for water to serve the lower unit.Application re
jected.No out-of-town taps are permitted.
The bids for the storage reservoir will be advertised in the Estes Park
Trail on September 4,11,and 18.
