The Water Committee discussed water conservation material for inclusion in
the Municipal Code.The Water Committee recommends the Board of Trustees
adopt by ordinance the following for inclusion in the Municipal Code:
WATER CONSERVATION
Water shall be put to beneficial uses only and shall never be wasted:
Specific requirements are:
1.Where water is used for cooling requirements of refrigeration
equipment of 5 tons or more in capacity,direct single use of the water is
prohibited and water conservation equipment shall be installed such as
evaporative or spray condensers,spray ponds or cooling towers.Such
water conservation equipment shall be arranged and used so that at least
9O°Z of the water used is reclaimed for re-use for the same purpose.Where
water is used for cooling of refrigeration equipment of less than 5 tons,such
equipment shall be provided with water regulating valves which will limit
the flow of cooling water to the minimum requirement of any load and
positive shut-off valves which will shut off the flow of cooling water when
such equipment is not operating.
2.The use of hydraulic ejectors such as those utilized as a basement
or sump pump is specifically prohibited.
3.The practice of wasting water for the prevention of freezing is
specifically prohibited.
4.The use of water that is directed to a drain for the purpose of
operating any device or mechanism is specifically prohibited.
The following water applications were rejected by the Water Committee because
the applicants are outside the corporate limits of the Town of Estes Park:

Richard Stocker,High Drive Heights
Elizabeth 0.Swanson,Moraine Road
Al Alzheimer,High Drive Heights
Mr.J.F.Walter submitted an application for water to Lot 17,Hondius
Heights Subdivision.In accordance with the Hondius Heights water contract
and Town Resolution #1964-10,the Committee recommends this application be
approved as permit #1 for the year 1966.
Superintendent McCracken provided the following information on the proposed
pipe line replacement for the Ferguson Subdivision.The Line will be 1650 feet
in length--½in 4”pipe and ½in 2”pipe.The estimated total cost is
$3,913.00.The Committee recommends the Town Water Department proceed
immediately and install this replacement pipeline.

The Water Committee reviewed the Accounts Receivable as of this date,
and they are as follows:

assessing past-due water accounts to customers’general property taxes.
