Mr.Ivan Thomas,owner of several lots in the Thomas Resubdivision,appeared
before the Committee and requested the Town enter into an agreement with
him.This agreement will provide that the Town collect tap fees on Lots
3,4,7,8,9,and 10 of the Thomas Resubdivision and refund this amount to
Mr.Thomas.The contract shall expire when Mr.Thomas receives 75L of the
total amount of the contract or a period of ten years,whichever comes
first.The estimated cost of this pipeline is $1,826.50,making a tap fee
of $304.41.The Committee recommends the above agreement be entered into by
the Town.The Committee also recommends Mr.Thomas pay the attorney fees
necessary for the drawing of this contract.
Superintendent McCracken discussed Chapter 6,Paragraph 22 of the Municipal
Code which deals with a charge of $10.00 for turning past-due accounts off
and on.The Committee recommends this portion of the Code be amended to
permit a charge of $10.00 plus the actual cost of turning water services
off or on.
Superintendent McCracken presented an application for a water sprinkling
system for the Lake Estes Motel.After considerable discussion,the com
mittee decided Chapter 6,Paragraph 14 of the Municipal Code would limit
the pipe size to 3/4”and the nozzle size to 3/16”.The Committee also
recommends this portion of the Code be amended to control sprinkling
systems and their sizes.
The Clerk read a letter dated April 30,1965 to the Water Committee from
Mr.D.R.Pulliam of Loveland,Colorado.This letter made reference to
water rights which may be available to the Town of Estes Park.The Water
Committee authorized Mayor Graves to write Mr.Pulliam and ask for more
detailed information in regard to available water rights so that the Town
can furnish its water right engineer with the necessary information for an
intelligent evaluation.
The Committee recommends the bond houses which have contacted the Town
be notified the Town will accept proposals for refunding the 1964 Water
Bond Is sue.
