Water Committee Meeting

The Accounts Receivable for the Water Department in the amount of $2,599.00
were reviewed by the Committee and shut-of fs on all Accounts Receivable were
ordered for May 16,1966.Notices of the above mentioned shut-offs are to
be sent as soon as possible.
The following water applications were approved:
Maurice R.Thompson,residence,Lots 14,15,and 16 Pinewood Acres,
annexation petition must be filed before connecting to the Town
water system.
Neil Rosener,residence,south of Broadview Subdivision,residence
must be connected to the 8”water line,residence must be located
below 7,850 feet.
The following water applications were rejected:
Mrs.Milton H.Thompson,residences,Devils Gulch,the water distri
bution system in this area is inadequate to serve any additional
units.
Delbert Anderson,trailer court,spur #66,distribution system in
this area inadequate.
The following water applications were tabled for further study:
Mountain Estates,Inc.,Walter Ebner,Beaver Point;
John Jones,southwest of Estes Park.
The Estes Park Group of Christian Scientists requested permission for a
temporary sprinkling permit.After considerable discussion,the Water Com
mittee recommends a temporary sprinkling permit be issued to the Estes Park
Group of Christian Scientists for the year 1966 only.
The Clerk reviewed a proposed amendment to Chapter 6.28 of the Municipal
Code which would permit consumers making new connects to the Town’s water
system to have their rates prorated on the basis of the number of months
remaining in the water year in which the connect is made.The Water Commit
tee recommends to the Board of Trustees this order be passed and adopted.
The Water Committee discussed the possibility of establishing a charge for
ice makers.No recommendation.
The Water Committee recommends the Water Superintendent be given approval to
construct a loop connecting the 2½”Griffith line in the center of the Rimrock
property to the 2½”Ramshorn line located north of Ramshorn Cottages.The
Committee recommends the Water Superintendent proceed with the necessary
rights of way and construction of the above mentioned project.A notice of
bid shall also be published in the Estes Park Trail.The Committee recommends
the owners in High Drive Heights be given permission to lower 500 feet of
water main and that the Town provide the necessary amount of 4”pipe.This
water main shall be installed as per the Water Superintendent’s specifications.

The Water Committee decided to charge Mike Griffith with the annual 1965-
1966 water bill,and his account shall be billed in the future as all others.
There being no further business,it was regularly moved,seconded,and
carried that the meeting adjourn.
