Water Committee Meeting
February 9,1967
Committee:Chairman flannels;Trustees Swanson and Grove

Also Attending:Superintendent McCracken and Town Clerk Hill
Absent:Trustee Swanson
Mr.and Mrs.E.R.Anderson,owners of Wonderview Cottages on the High
Drive,appeared before the Water Committee and requested permission to be
served by the Municipal water system.Chairman flannels informed the
Andersons the Town’s water system was not capable at this time of serving
their properties.If at such time in the future the system were capable,
arrangements would be studied to serve their properties.
Mayor Graves reported on the meeting in Washington,D.C.,between himself,
Town Attorney Hartwell,and the National Park Service.This meeting was
held on February 7,1967.Those representing the National Park Service
were Director George Hartzog,Interior Department Attorney,Solicitors
Office Attorney,the Assistant Director for the Park Service,Park Superin
tendent Liles,and Novak.The results of this two-hour meeting were that
the Park Service will conduct a study of the water available within the
National Park.After this study is complete,there will be another meeting
between the Town and the National Park Service.At this time,the possi
bility of a water agreement will be discussed.
The Clerk reported there are 23 petitions now being circulated for the
annexation of the Town of Estes Park into the Northern Colorado Water
Conservancy District.The date of March 1 has been set for the completion
of the petitions.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
